Tips for Italy

During my time in Italy, there were some things that I wish I had known before I went. The first thing was water. I could not find water anywhere I went; the only time I could buy water was from a supermarket or the little 6-ounce one on the trains. Always bring water with you. The next one is bathrooms; I could never find a bathroom as they seem to be hard to come by. I would keep this in mind while planning your trips. The next one is the weather. I went during March, and the weather is not too predictable. Even though you would think during March it would be cold, I was sweating in Venice and certain parts of my trip, while other times I was cold. My advice for this is to dress in layers so that you can easily take layers on and off when you get cold or warm. When you explore places like Florence, you have to keep in mind you can't bring bags with you or food or open drinks when you want to climb up some building like, for example, the bell tower. This is the one thing I was prepared for; I brought a fanny pack and a closed water. I could bring everything I need in my fanny pack and bring it up with me. I definitely recommend bringing water when walking up these steps because, for me, it was physically challenging, but bringing that water with me made it a lot easier since I could take a quick little water break at times.
